Manpower is looking for an Operations Supervisor to support the Shift Manager to drive innovation and execution in transportation networks.
Your role
As our Operations Supervisor, you will support daily management of duties and deputise the Shift Manager as required. You will also carry out briefings, ensure that paperwork is accurately completed as well as carry out duties in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs.). You will take on the responsibility for tracking attendance and work flow along with ensuring sufficient resourcing for your team, such as training needs, coaching, absence and performance management as well as continuous monitoring of department productivity. You will support in the development of a strong culture of health and safety by ensuring that safety practices comply with legislation and our policies. You will work alongside the Shift Manager to highlight and rectify issues as they arise, assist with tracking, trending and reporting of departmental metrics. Moreover, you will assist in analysing and understanding why, or why we are not, meeting our departmental and Delivery Station goals.
You will:
* Carry out security checks prior to the end of the shift
* Assist with the training of new associates to ensure they have the right knowledge to carry out tasks required
* Review and update SOPs and metrics as required
* Improve flow of parcels through your area as well as follow up and solve process-related area issues as required
* Ensure vehicle and equipment defect reporting is completed to a high standard
* Manage customer service escalations and interface with driver and customer where necessary
Your skills
You have a GCSE Maths and English, grade C or above (or equivalent qualification). From previous jobs, you have demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. You have the drive to motivate a team to meet our targets and productivity expectations. Moreover, you are able to meet or exceed departmental production goals and eager to be trained and learn new skills. You also have previous experience in coaching and mentoring others to succeed.
