MAIN ACTIVITIESThe High Voltage SubSystem engineer will be responsible for design, development and validation of Electrified Powertrain High Voltage Safety or Charging SubSystem features across the vehicle platforms.
-Support the development of vehicle and supplier component high voltage specifications
-Generate high voltage (HV) subsystem vehicle functional requirements, algorithm change requests (ACR) and provide supervision on component performance standards
-Contribute to Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) for multiple programs
-Perform lesson learned and optimize existing process, tools, safety feature and strategy
-Develop and optimize subsystem level design validation plan (DVP)
-Perform design validation (DV) on HV features and strategies on system benches and in vehicles
-Analyze validation results and actively engaging appropriate team members on issue resolution
-Develop HV system development properties: SubSystem bucks, tools, procedures
-Problem solving at vehicle, system, component, hardware, software and tool level
-Support the creation of vehicle documentation, such as First responder's guide, labeling, service manual and owner's manual
-Perform and train first run/ triage/ garage and plant on HV safety check out
REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent in Electrical, Applied Physics, Systems, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited, or ABET equivalent university other graduate level technical degrees in the specific area of relevant specialty expertise
-School projects pertaining to electrified vehicles
-Great knowledge of electrification technology, functionality and features on the system level
-Knowledge in product engineering design and development, with emphasis on systems and product development
-Understand real-time systems, hardware and software
-Understand regulatory requirements, industry standards and recommended practices
-Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
-Coordinate activities with cross functional teams
-A self-starter
-High voltage safety experience with hands-on work on high voltage systems/components
-Experience with HV safety features including isolation, interlock loop, equipotential bonding.
-Knowledge on Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) requirements
-High voltage training and experience is desirable
