We are looking for a :

PROCESS ENGINEER & QUALITY SPECIALIST

Purpose of Job:

Responsible for process improvement in the paper manufacturing process. Conducts studies and makes recommendations with regard to continuous process control improvements which enhance productivity, reduce scrap, improve quality and enhance the work environment. Develops capital authorization requests and manages capital projects. Leverages on W.C.M. (World Class Manufacturing) concepts and major divisional initiatives in order to improve manufacturing performance for Ciriè paper mill.
Key Activities / Measurables

Activities Safety
Ensure safe working practices are developed and maintained within area of responsibility and strive towards a goal of zero injuries
Perform safety observations and share findings and recommendations with plant leadership team. Complete 4 behavioral discussions per month and review results withplant leadership team
Encourage the reporting of close calls

Main tasks
Develop, implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators driving continuous improvement
Work with plant employees to establish standard operating procedures (S.O.P.) and standard operating controls (S.O.C) to provide long-term sustainable improvements in the quality of product and service
Focus on maximizing productivity and profit, ensuring that the plant manufacture output to plan as cost effectively as possible, ensuring quality standards are achieved and consistently maintained
Develop capital authorization requests and manage capital projects, working with the Project Management resources. Identify new technology and leverage it from other Paper

Division manufacturing locations
Utilize Six Sigma & Total Quality Management tools to enhance productivity, reduce scraps, improve quality and enhance the work environment. Manage multiple projects and support process improvement teams within the paper mill
Manage and document mill engineering changes. Maintain current records of mill processes and controls
Manage energy as per ISO50001, including reporting and white certificates
Coordinate environmental audit activities on site
Acknowledge water treatment plant and its main stages
Work with customers to qualify mill engineering changes and their impact on the customers process and products
Maintain and develop quality system (Agile) and customers feedback in cooperation with sales department
Develop annual goals and objectives for process improvement and manage them.

Lead productivity and process improvement projects and prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, recommending actions
Take part in the execution of Continuous Improvement Management methodologies
Work closely with production Supervisors and Machine Leaders and help them develop skills and competences in using new tools and sustain improved processes Provide support to maintenance systems within the mill Other related tasks.

Measurables Productivity targets KPI s, including but not limited to OEE, scrap, set-ups and minor stops Time response to claim Meet environmental deadlines Meet energy and reporting deadlines

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge Required
Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical Eng.)
Fluent in English communication

Desirable
MBA
Lean/Six Sigma certification
Cognos Knowledge

Skills, Experience and Attitude
Experience
2-3 years of experience in engineering role in structured manufacturing companies
Competences
Data management skills
Excellent computer skills with experience in Office, Autocad and other specific software
Knowledge in Lean/Six Sigma concepts
Natural leadership talent, ability in managing and leading teams/projects & to build connection with people
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
Developed time management skills, with an ability to balance demands among various projects
Ability to implement & execute projects with flexible and practical approach
Ability to understand complex situations and apply simple and logic solutions
Strong addiction to his own and other people s safety - Gives a solid contribution to a safe and healthful work environment. Encourages others to respect safety rules, by giving the example.
Passion, curiosity and drive to observation

Working Environment
This position is based in Ciriè paper mill. Travel will be required
